They say life is all about timing. If it’s meant to happen, it will, at the right time, for the right reasons. We couldn’t agree more..

Let’s take it back to June 2014. Dan had recently moved back to Pennsylvania for a fresh start after years of living & working in Virginia. I had just completed the hardest, most demanding, two years of my life - nursing school. Dan was looking to do some rest & relaxation (and a hell of a lot of fishing!!) and I couldn’t wait to embark on my new career as an RN & “start my life.”

It was June 27th, the day of my graduation ceremony! My family & friends and I were celebrating afterwards at a local bar. I saw my brother-in-law, Tommy, talking to this really cute guy at the other end of the bar. I went over to tell Tommy we were leaving shortly and of course, asked who his friend was. You guessed it.. that super cute guy was Dan! Dan and Tommy had grown up together playing hockey ever since they could skate. Dan and I never knew one another even existed prior to this night! After an exchange of a few adult beverage induced pick-up lines (hey, no shame! heeheehee), Dan joined us in our celebrations for the rest of the night!

The next day, I received a cheesy text from an unknown number.. it was Dan. I will never forget that first text! I remember thinking “maybe something will come of this...” so I responded and we made plans to grab a drink. After that, we didn’t spend much time apart. It didn’t take long for me (or him) to fall head over heels! Falling in love with Dan was just so easy, completely effortless, natural, exciting, & the most fun!!

After 15 months of dating, we moved to Pittsburgh together. Here, we really grew as a couple - Dan quickly learned just how long it really takes for me to get ready (& not to rush me!), and I adapted to the smell of hockey equipment airing out in the living room after games (I mean, if that ain’t love, guys..)!

Fast forward 2 years to November 24, 2017. It was the day after Thanksgiving. Dan & I and Todd & Molleigh (Dan’s brother & his wife) went for a hike at Laurel Mountain. Little did I know this wasn’t JUST your average hike! After getting lost on the wrong trail (Dan the Geography major, ladies & gents LOL) we made it to Beam’s Rock. There, on the snow capped rocks, with the most beautiful view, Dan proposed!!! It was the most absolutely perfect, wonderful, amazing day, from start to finish! Now, here we are - planning OUR WEDDING and we couldn’t be more excited!!

It truly is amazing how life works out. We are so thankful our paths have crossed. We look forward to all that lies ahead, and we can not wait to continue our journey together as husband & wife.❤️
